Hoe je van een print op een shirt tot een kaartje komt

Vanmorgen keek ik in de spiegel en had ik direct inspiratie voor mijn volgende project. In de look van mijn shirt wilde ik graag een kaart maken. Dit is wat ik er van maakte en voor jullie referentie een foto van het betreffende shirt.

How a top can lead you to a card

This morining i looked in the mirror and i had inspiration for my next project right away. I just wanted to make a card with the same look as the shirt i was wearing. This is what i made. And for your reference i also added a picture of the top i wore today.

Lijkt er wel op toch? Ik zal vertellen hoe ik deze kaart gemaakt heb en welke materialen ik gebruikte.

Looks kind of similar don’t it? I will tell you how i made this card and what products i used.

Voor de kaartbasis gebruikte ik Night of Navy Cardstock. Een halve A4 in het midden gerild en gevouwen. Niets bijzonders aan. Vervolgens sneed ik een extra kaarlaag uit dezelfde kleur Cardstock maar dan een halve cm smaller en korter. Deze haalde ik door de Bigshot met de Layered Leaves embossing folder. Omdat dit een 3D embossing folder is moet je het te bewerken papier wel even licht vochtig maken om te voorkomen dat het scheurt. Dit kun je met een Stampin’ Spritzer doen die je met kraanwater hebt gevuld.

For the cardbase i used Night of Navy Cardstock. Half of an A4, scored and folded in the middle. Nothing special so far. Then i cut an extra cardlayer from the same paper, just half a centimeter smaller on both sides. I pulled that layer through the Bigshot using the Layered Leaves embossing folder. Beacause this is a 3D folder you need to vaporise your cardstock with some water before that to prevent the paper from ripping under the pressure. You can use a Stampin’ Spritzer for that, filled with regular tapwater. 

De volgende stap is het maken van de bloemen. Je stempelt wat bloemen en takjes uit de stempelset First Frost in Night of Navy op Whisper White cardstock. Voor sommige bloemen kun je nog wat extra’s toevoegen door, na dat je inkt op de stempel hebt gedaan, met een spongedauber nog wat shimmerpaint toe te voegen. Hierin kun je varieren van de gehele stempel tot alleen het hart of de randen. Vervolgens stans je de gestempelde bloemen uit.

The next step is making the flowers. You just stamp some flowers and branches from the First Frost stampset on Whisper White Cardstcock using Night of Navy ink. For some flowers you can add something extra by adding some shimmerpaint. You put the shimmerpaint directly on the stamp, after inking it, using a spongedauber. You can vary in shimmering the whole image or only the center or edges of the flowers. Next you diecut the flowers.

Voor de volgende stap gaan we nog meer shimmer toevoegen aan de kaart. Hiervoor bewerk je een stuk vellum met de spongebrayer. Eerst met Night of Navy inkt en daarna met de shimmerpaint. Het hoeft niet egaal te zijn, een beetje vlekkerig effect is juist leuk. Als het vellum gedroogd is stans je hieruit nog wat takjes. Deze glimmen dan zo leuk en zijn net wat anders van textuur dan het Night of Navy cardstock.

For the next step we add some more shimmer to the card. You take a piece of vellum and add color to it with a spongebrayer and Night of Navy ink. After that you add some shimmerpaint with the spongebrayer as well. It doesn’t need to be even, a little spotted effect is nicer. When the vellum has dried completely you can diecut some branches out of it. I like the glimmer they add and that the texture of the vellum is different from the normal cardstock. 

Als laatste plak je alle takjes en bloemen op je kaart en voeg je nog wat embellishments toe. Ik heb gekozen voor het polkadot tule lint, diamantjes, facet gems en epoxy drops. Deze heb ik stuk voor stuk bewerkt met de donkere Night of Navy Stampin Blend. Het sentiment komt uit de stempelset “Van alles wat” en heb ik met witte embossingpoeder extra laten opvallen. The last step is to adhere all your flowers and branches to your card and adding embellishments. I chose the Polka dot tule ribbon, rhinesones, facetted gems and epoxy droplets. Each of them are colored with the dark Night of Navy Stampin’ Blend. The sentiment is  from the Dutch stampset “Van alles wat” (itty bitty greetings) and is heat embossed with white embossing powder to let it stand out a bit more. I hope you like my card.
